What the website stores
Download counter
Under the download buttons there's a “Downloaded N times” line. When you click “Download” or “GitHub”, your browser sends the site a tiny request saying which button was clicked. To stop one person from inflating the number, the server counts at most one click of each kind per address per day. Here's how:
- a SHA-256 hash is computed from your IP address, your browser's User-Agent, the date and a secret random salt;
- only a truncated hash is stored — your IP address and User-Agent are never saved in plain form;
- the date is part of the hash, so entries from different days can't be linked. The hash file lives for one day (UTC) and is deleted the next;
- the only thing kept for good is two numbers: how many times “Download” and “GitHub” were clicked.
Clicks from search engine bots and requests from other sites aren't counted. Until there are enough downloads, the counter line stays hidden — we never show made-up numbers.
Server logs
Like any web host, ours keeps standard web server logs: IP address, time, page address and browser. They're needed to run and protect the site and are kept by the hosting provider under its own rules. We don't use them for analytics or advertising.
Cookies and browser storage
The site sets no cookies. If you close the “This page is also in Russian” banner, your browser remembers that in localStorage under the key a2s-lang-x. It stays on your device and is never sent anywhere.
Analytics
There are no analytics tools on the site right now — no Google Analytics, no Yandex Metrica — and no ads. If that ever changes, this page will say so first.
Google Fonts
The site's fonts, Forum and Inter, load from Google's servers: fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. That means Google receives your IP address and browser details, as with any file download. How Google handles that is described in its privacy policy. Our pages don't load any other third-party services on their own.
Links to Telegram and GitHub open only when you click them; from there, those services' own rules apply.
The plugin
- No telemetry, analytics or ads. The plugin sends no data about you.
- The only network traffic is an empty connect to the game server, ping, public feeds (NC notices, Steam, shugo.gg, aion2timers.com) and an update check every 12 hours against GitHub and our own site. Requests carry no cookies or identifiers — just the plugin version.
- Settings, markers and the cached schedule stay on your PC: in the registry under
HKCU\Software\Aion2Statusand in the%APPDATA%\Aion2Statusfolder. - The device code used for Premium is 8 bytes of a SHA-256 hash of the Windows MachineGuid. The GUID itself never leaves your PC, and the code reaches the bot only when you click “Buy in Telegram”.
Every address, plus what the plugin reads on your PC, is listed on the safety page.
Telegram bot
@Aion2Status_Bot handles Premium purchases and maintenance alerts. It stores:
- your Telegram ID, username, display name and Telegram language — to reply in your language;
- your device code, key, expiry date and payment ID — to issue or renew a key, or process a refund;
- your
/notifysubscription — chat and region.
Payment is made in Telegram Stars; your card details never reach us. To turn alerts off, send /notify off.
Questions and deleting your data
To find out what the bot stores about you, or to ask for it to be deleted, send /support in the bot followed by your request in one message. We don't sell your data or pass it on to anyone.
